Princess II

Another version (sketch) of a Malay princess. She wears the traditional 'Cik Siti Wan Kembang' dress of Kelantanese origin. This dress comprised of two pieces of cloth; one wrapped around the hips, the other wrapped around the chest, then secured with a belt. A selendang or shawl draped the shoulders. This dress was never worn in the presence of men (in court).

Apr 21 2000 Elfwood artist: Troy L. Megli, (Click here to visit!)It's a very cool thing! "That you're sharing with all of us the more overlooked aspects of a culture that's SO very rich in tradition, style & that has played such an important role throughout history. Thank You )!
Apr 23 2000 Elfwood artist: William A. Clayton, (Click here to visit!)It was long ago, in a Kingdom woven by our own imaginations that I met my Princess, and sang her songs, and loved her. Though that Kingdom is no more, my Heart has never left her side. Your Princess is lovely, and worthy of Song. <~~}:)~
May 27 2000 Elfwood artist: Joellena S. 'azul' Asher, (Click here to visit!)hey Alang, great expression excellent costuming. i can't get past her hands though!! is she wearing mittens? if not give that girl some fingers!! otherwise as always excellent pic, those hands are distracting though!

Nov 26 2000 Elfwood artist: Stacie 'Sugar Magnolia' Busse, (Click here to visit!)I was instantly drawn to this picture. She has such a wonderful look on her face, almost like she is up to something. Is she? hehe. I love it

Perhaps she is up to something? Who knows? Heh..heh..heh...
Mar 25 2002 Elfwood artist: Joseph Chang Excellent pic! It's funny how parts of the picture (face, hair) are really really detailed and smoothed, while other parts (hands) are minimalist (unfinished). Neato anyway
Sep 21 2003 Myra Faedira I love her face. And the costume is totally awesome! But her hands are really distracting? Is she wearing gloves? You might want to make that just a little more clear to the viewer. On the whole, I LOVE her face!
